Reauthorized in 2004 through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Response to intervention (RTI) promotes the use of universal screening, continued progress monitoring, and a multi-level prevention system, all driven by valid, research-based data. Istation’s Indicators of Progress — or ISIP™, as it is referred to in the education field — provides seamless monthly assessments for both universal screening and continued progress monitoring. Istation’s Priority Report, aptly named for its intervention alerts to the educator, offers detailed data and pinpoints the needs of struggling students. This particular report links educators to thousands of teacher-directed lessons written in a lesson plan format for small-group or one-on-one instruction. With valid and reliable research, Istation supports educators, students, and all their RTI needs!
Based on the multi-level prevention system promoted by RTI, Istation provides multiple educator tools through access to over 2000 written lessons, including passages, leveled books, graphic organizers, scripted lesson plans, and Teacher Station. The Teacher Station offers a multitude of Istation’s award-winning animated lessons for use on interactive whiteboards or with a projector and screen. The interactivity of Teacher Station facilitates use with whole-group and small-group instruction. The RTI multi-level prevention system includes Tier 1 instruction coming from core curriculum, Tier 2 instruction focused on small groups for moderate intervention through supplemental instruction, and Tier 3 instruction, where increased levels of intensity exist through individualized and small-group instruction.
The Istation approach to instruction is a perfect fit for any RTI implementation across the globe. ISIP’s automated assessments for seamless, computer-based screening and progress monitoring and Istation’s interactive, animated program for individualized instruction provide the base for collecting precise and useful data. The Istation Web site grants immediate access to the detailed, real-time reports that give instantaneous knowledge of student progress and intervention needs. In addition to all of these assets, the immense collection of written and animated educator tools makes the RTI process easy with a click!
