Let's continue our 2nd best practice tip of 2017.
In this video, a classroom teacher monitors and communicates her students' weekly minutes based on their individual Tiers.
Tip #2 Follow Istation’s recommended usage criteria for reading, Spanish, and math.
Istation usage is classified as “Good” when students meet the recommended minutes per week for their specific instructional tier. “Fair” usage is defined as usage performance within 30 minutes of the recommended minutes per week. Finally, “Insufficient” usage means the student’s number of minutes per week fell below the recommended usage.
If Istation Reading is used as your school’s primary intervention program, we recommend that Tier 3 students use the program for 120 or more minutes per week, Tier 2 students use it for 90 or more minutes per week, and Tier 1 students use it for 45 minutes per week.
The usage requirements change if your school uses Istation Reading as a supplemental intervention program. It is recommended to use Istation Reading en Español this many minutes per week as well.
