October is a busy time of year for you, teachers, students, and Istation too! We are happy to announce a big release of exciting new things to look for while using the product. Get ready to read about these features over the next two weeks.
Today’s blog post is dedicated solely to Istation Math updates!
Istation Early Math (Pre-K–1) Students will explore Roadside Attractions with Donnie and the Decimals. The journey begins during a rehearsal at Donnie’s garage as they play games on Donnie’s “D-Pad.”
Geometry – Identifying Circles and Squares Students will learn about the properties of circles and squares by searching for and identifying them in Donnie’s garage.
Data Analysis – Compare Data in Picture Graphs Students will read data on picture graphs in this introduction to graphs.
Algebra – Recognize and Replicate Patterns First, students will identify a row of shapes arranged in a repeating pattern.Then they will identify pattern rules and replicate patterns using given objects.
Istation Math 2-5
Operations – Addition and Subtraction with Regrouping – Partitioning The wily Math-a-Magician has stolen the zoo’s gorilla and rhinoceros, and it’s up to students to save these innocent creatures! Using the Partitioning strategy to represent numbers in expanded form, students will find sums and differences to rescue the animals.
Geometry – Measure Angles with a Protractor The evil Miss Match is wreaking havoc all over town! By using a trusty protractor, students will measure angles to the nearest degree to counteract her chaos.
Geometry – Graphing Points on the Coordinate Plane
Algebra – Comparing Points on the Coordinate Plane
The Spider Queen and her sidekick, Fly, have the city caught in a sticky web! To save the city’s citizens, students must graph points on a coordinate plane. Then they will use given rules to plot and compare points and lines.
ISIP™ Algebra Readiness Progress Monitoring
A new progress-monitoring tool designed to assess student readiness for Algebra 1 and track progress in areas predictive of future algebra success has been released for grades 6-8.
