People ask us all the time, how do I help my students in fluency. Well, one of the best ways to increase reading speed and comprehension is MORE reading.
I try to encourage my students and friends to read as much as possible. Last year I challenged myself to read 300 new books and just barely met my goal with 312. This year I am changing my goal a little by participating in the 2016 Reading Challenge. I am sure that a lot of you have seen this on Goodreads, the ILA website, or on Facebook or Twitter. So, how about it? Join the challenge and encourage yourself and your students to read more this year.
