Check Out Istation's Middle School Reading Characters and More!

Istation is excited to introduce the newest addition to middle school reading, HumanEX! Istation’s blended-learning reading solution engages middle school students and motivates them to learn and apply reading comprehension, vocabulary, language, writing, and critical thinking skills.

HumanEX appears after Timeless Tales with Paige Turner and before NexLevel in the continuum and covers 6th-8th grade reading, language, and literacy state standards. Students working in this instruction are exposed to possible career paths and will experience what it’s like to work in a professional setting. They will also work through the curriculum with agency as they explore choices in a game-like format.

Students take part in the experience within a museum, the Human Experience Museum, full of mysterious challenges. Historic artifacts are being replaced with fake ones, and the staff needs help from students who are interns at the museum. They must follow clues, interview suspects, and save the museum before the grand opening.

Students will have a chance to meet the new characters while interacting with the museum map and all of its floors. Below are a few characters students will encounter on their journey.

After exploring the museum floors and looking into rooms, students are free to move on to Istation’s NexLevel middle school reading curriculum and return to HumanEX later.

HumanEX is a supplemental curriculum that complements any existing core or intervention curriculum. Teachers can use the program’s detailed diagnostic reports and targeted, easy-to-use lessons to improve learning outcomes.
