How One School Engaged with Data and Saw Huge Leaps in Reading

Vista Grande Elementary in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, began using Istation’s reading assessment data to track students’ skill growth in all areas of the Big Five: phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Engaging with the data this way allowed Principal Christine Prescott and her teachers to determine where to focus on filling in skill gaps and meeting students’ unique academic needs.

While working through Istation’s early reading instruction, 2nd and 3rd graders encounter Flint Rockwell, a young gecko with a love of stories and a thirst for adventure. In our newest release, students accompany Flint Rockwell to the Fables Forest, where they will discover a host of characters and classic fables.
