"Links Between Books from Birth Participation and Second-Grade Reading Performance"
Featured in The Urban Child Insitute
A follow-up assessment to research done two years ago with the Books from Birth early literacy program in Shelby County used Istation Early Reading to measure students' reading ability. Second graders in the Shelby County Schools recieved ISIP measures of vocabulary, reading comprehension, and spelling. The analysis of the study found that students who participated in the early literacy program two years ago had higher scores in reading development in second grade compared to those who did not participate in Books from Birth. Learn more about the analysis in The Urban Child Institute article. For more information about Books from Birth, visit the Web site.
